Turner: Connecting Local Communities to Media
User experience design.
Objective: To redesign the way media is recommended in the public, creating a more personalized and community-driven experience.
Solution: An app that allows users to explore the content others in their community are engaged with, fostering learning, connection, and collective growth.
Users interact with people in their community who share similar interests, feeding into their recommendations and vice versa.
FIGMA PROTOTYPE
IDEATION
We combined the social aspect of Tinder with a media recommendation app. We observed people were engaged while interacting with their local community thorough Tinder. People are also more likely to take a recommendation from someone they know, look up to, or think are interesting. These combined creates a powerful app experience, making users more motivated to check out media and spaces in their community.

PRESENTATION SLIDES

Reflection
I expanded my knowledge of Figma and user experience in this project. This project had a three week timeline, with our main focus being on the system design. With more time, I would expand the design language of the app, as well as create a more in depth structure to the system. I also improved my presentation skills, focusing on minimizing my slides to the essential topics.
